Our defense and specialized engineering capabilities cover domains that require specific technical knowledge and equipment that most IT companies simply do not have. This work - precision optical manufacturing, RF system integration, frequency and timing systems, and defense-grade simulation tools - is built on years of domain experience and is not something we have added quickly to round out a service list.

Capabilities

Defence, Electronics and Engineering Solutions

Our work with defense customers covers the full electronics supply chain, from initial design through to tested, ruggedized components ready for field deployment. We design and fabricate PCBs to defense-grade specifications, supply precision mechanical components, and provide ruggedization for electronics that need to survive harsh operating environments - vibration, shock, extreme temperatures, and EMI conditions.

We supply laser and laser optics-based products to the Ministry of Defence, and our component sourcing capabilities cover a wide range of electronics and accessories that are difficult to source reliably through standard commercial channels. Every component we supply goes through proper documentation and quality verification appropriate to defense procurement requirements.

This is not a sideline business for us. Defense electronics supply is a core part of what CHILLION was built to do, and our team has the domain familiarity to navigate the documentation, qualification, and regulatory requirements that come with Ministry of Defence contracts.

Simulation and Engineering Technologies

Defense and aerospace engineering programs depend on simulation tools to validate designs before physical testing, and in some cases before any hardware is built at all. The computational cost of simulation has dropped dramatically over the past decade as solver technology has improved and HPC hardware has become more accessible, but the expertise required to set up and run meaningful simulations has not decreased.

We supply, deploy, and support simulation tools covering structural mechanics, multi-physics analysis, fluid dynamics, explicit dynamics, and electromagnetic simulation. The flagship platform we work with is ANSYS, including ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS Maxwell, and ANSYS HFSS for electromagnetic simulation. We also integrate these tools with HPC clusters for programs that require large-scale computational resources.

Our simulation support extends beyond software installation. We help engineering teams set up appropriate models, validate their boundary conditions, and interpret results. Poor simulation setup produces results that look plausible but are wrong, and that kind of error can be expensive to discover downstream.

Precise Frequency and Time Synchronization Systems

Many critical infrastructure systems depend on timing precision that most people do not think about. Telecommunications networks, financial trading systems, power grid synchronization, GPS receivers, radar systems, and scientific instrumentation all require timing references that are accurate, stable, and traceable to a recognized standard. When timing fails or drifts, the consequences can range from degraded system performance to outright failures.

We supply precision timing and frequency synchronization systems for mission-critical infrastructure across telecom, aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. Our solutions cover GPS and GNSS-based timing references, frequency distribution systems, network time synchronization (NTP and PTP/IEEE 1588), and high-stability oscillators for applications where GPS is not available or is not trusted as the primary reference.

Defense applications have specific requirements around timing resilience - systems that can maintain accurate time even when GPS signals are unavailable or being jammed. We address these requirements through appropriate selection of high-stability reference oscillators, holdover specifications, and backup timing architectures.
